DAY 2: TOUR & ACTIVITIES


Day 2 of Music Tourist offers a programme created for delegates to socialise, while being introduced to many of the locations which helped Glasgow become the UK's first UNESCO City Of Music.

SCHEDULE:

10.00 - GLASGOW MUSIC MILE TOUR
Setting off from the Citizen M Hotel, delegates will be met by guides from Glasgow Music City Tours for a guided walk along the Music Mile, offering an insight into many of the city's legendary venues.


11.00-12.30 - PANOPTICON, BARROWLAND PARK & ST LUKE'S VISIT
The journey continues by coach to the Merchant City and East End which includes a stops at Britain's oldest surviving music hall, the Panopticon, the Barrowland Walk and converted church, St Luke's. From there it continues along the banks of the Clyde for an exclusive tour of The SSE Hydro.


12.45-13.15 - SSE HYDRO TOUR
Opened in September 2013, this is now the world's second most popular music arena after London's O2, and has hosted a wide range of acts  including  Beyonce, Shania Twain, Depeche Mode, Queens Of The Stone Age, as well as the MTV Europe Music Awards and the MOBOs.


13.30-15.00 - TENNEMENT TV VISIT AND LUNCH
Saturday’s excursion ends with lunch at the home of Tenement TV, the online music channel which also hosts the Tenement Trail, a live extravaganza featuring a selection of the most exciting emerging talent.
